The British Government's Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agecncy (MHRA) has officially announced cannabidiol (CBD) has "restoring, correcting, or modifying" effects on "physiological functions. This announcement is the result of a review of CBD that was undertaken after MHRA discussed the cannabinoid with MediPen, a company seeking to market CBD vaporizers. This news is groundbreaking, as the government recognizes the therapeutic benefits of one of marijuana's cannabinoids, and a spokesperson for MHRA has stated, "We have come to the opinion that products containing cannabidiol are a medicine. Products will have to meet safety, quality and effectiveness standards to protect public health. If you use CBD and if you have any questions, speak to your GP or other healthcare professional.”
