FDA OKs Cannabis-Based Ovarian Cancer Treatment

Ovarian cancer is a very serious illness that claims the lives of over 14,000 women annually in America alone. Now, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) is willing to continue research Dronabinol as a treatment option. In drug trials, this non-THC compound found in the cannabis plant has reportedly been effective in treating symptoms like nausea and vomiting that are associated with chemotherapy. The drug may also be able to treat anorexia and weight loss in patients with AIDS. With the FDA's support and interest in researching Dronabinol, We hope there will soon be a new treatment option on the horizon for women with ovarian cancer.
